About Northform
Advice from inside the commercial roles.
Northform RGM Advisory works with New Zealand FMCG suppliers on the decisions that actually move margin: pricing, trade investment, portfolio strategy and customer terms.
Most revenue growth management advice comes from one of two places. Either a global consultancy applying a framework built somewhere else, or someone who has read about these decisions without ever having to make one.
Northform is a third option. Twenty-plus years spent inside New Zealand FMCG commercial roles, carrying the number and living with the consequences of pricing and promotional calls made months earlier.
What that changes
It changes what gets recommended. Advice built from the inside accounts for the things that decide whether a strategy survives: what your team can actually resource, what a retailer will realistically accept, and how a price move lands three months after the deck is closed.
The starting point changes too. We begin with your data (scan, promotional history, customer P&Ls) instead of a framework looking for somewhere to be applied.
Where we’re focused right now
Three questions come up in almost every conversation with New Zealand suppliers at the moment:
- How to take price when every increase invites a volume conversation and a retailer challenge.
- How to cut promotional depth and frequency without handing share to the competitor who doesn’t.
- How to structure trade investment when a small number of customers carry most of your volume.
How we engage
We scope engagements to a specific commercial question rather than selling a retainer by default. Some are a focused diagnostic over a few weeks. Others run alongside a pricing round, a range review or an annual customer negotiation, where the value is in being in the room while the decisions get made.
Most start with a short conversation about what is happening in your numbers, at no cost. If we don’t think we can move them, we will say so. That is a faster and more useful answer than a proposal.
